CircuitMeter hardware includes: CTs and JBoxes; Voltage Sensor; and WebMeter™.
The CircuitMeter platform comprises proprietary hardware and its integrated cloud-based CircuitMonitoring™ software. The hardware includes a full range of Current Transformers (CTs) connected by code to CircuitMeter JBoxes, a Voltage Sensor, and a WebMeter™. A single WebMeter™ 36F system can meter up to 36 circuits, in 1/2/3 phase, with voltage to 600VAC and current to 6000A .
Each WebMeter™ is paired with one Voltage Sensor, and can meter multiple circuits across a common voltage i.e. Motor Control Center (MCC), electrical panel, sub panel, depending on the level of granularity desired.
CircuitMeter submetering hardware enables a new philosophy in the generation of submetered data because its design architecture was conceived with the goal of being low cost on a per circuit basis. Energy data can be collected within a facility directly from each and every load — straight from the circuit breaker. The WebMeter™ processes the data in real time and then sends current, voltage, and the full range of power data for all 36 circuits through the internet to CircuitMeter servers every two seconds.
A core design element in the generation of the data is the conversion of electrical information to data. With standard sampling at 3,000 Hz, the VoltageSensor and JBoxes provides a safe environment in capturing the voltage and current analogue signals, and with a standard Cat5 connection to the WebMeter™, all the energy data is processed.
The core component of the system is the WebMeter™.
The WebMeter™ processes the amp and voltage data for each circuit to create the full range of power data, and then transmits this data to the internet, either through CircuitMeter’s proprietary internet communications system, or through a dedicated M2M cellular link.
With the goal of being a radically lower cost solution, even the installation process was fully considered in the design stage. The hardware includes a number of considerations to ensure a simple and quick installation, even in the challenging environments commonly encountered in energy retrofit situations.
