Paul has more than 25 years’ experience as an executive directing the growth or turnaround of engineering, technology, and infrastructure companies. He has led company and divisional operations in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, specializing in strategy development and execution. For the past 10 years Paul has focused on the Cleantech Sector, with clients involved in the provision and control of clean energy into buildings and facilities.
Previous positions include: CEO – CleanEnergy, Canada’s first fully integrated geoexchange company; Senior Vice President – Giffels Engineering & Chairman – AGM Program Managers; President – Canac Remote Control Technologies; Vice President – Canac Inc; and, Vice President International – Cole,Sherman Associates. From 2010, Paul served as business advisor to the MaRS Cleantech Practice, while running his cleantech advisory firm, Mertes Management and Technology, Inc. He led the VXCanada 2011 Cleantech Industry Conference in Toronto and served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition.
Paul has a B.A.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo and an MBA (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Dan is a technology visionary with more than a quarter-century of leadership developing groundbreaking systems in the technology space. His early experience was in software development where he engineered an automotive Dealer Communications System (DCS) for Newgen Systems that connected car dealerships across Canad His later acquisition and tailoring of manufacturing software into a solution for the agriculture industry was adopted by large growers in Southern Ontario.
Dan led the development of mobile data initiatives for the Lenbrook group of companies, which included Clearnet. His successes included team leadership in the transition of an AS400 based solution for Intertrans Logistics. The transition became a micro-based solution for carriers and trucking companies. He also led the product marketing and outsourcing activities of the carrier logistics team for Pitney Bowes Canad Prior to founding CircuitMeter, Dan led the team at AirIQ in the development of one of the first Internet based remote tracking solutions in North Americ.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
Michael has more than 30 years’ experience developing new technologies into commercially viable systems. He has an exceptionally strong background as a Software Design and Development Specialist.
His experience and business development aptitude combine with his technical expertise to create a two-decade career of successful technology implementations.
Michael launched his career in the telephone communication industry where he developed call centre order entry and call forwarding systems for industry giants such as Pizza Pizza, CAA, GM Visa Card, McDonald’s, Sears Canada, and TCI. He was commissioned to design remote workforce order entry systems for McDonald’s Restaurants, GM Visa Card and Sears Canad.
Michael’s technical expertise and vision led him to develop a complete order entry, billing and wireless dispatch systems for one of Toronto’s largest same day courier companies. He followed that success by developing an optimized virtual machine firmware for low memory processors for Mobile Wireless and GPS Data Equipment. At AirIQ, he developed intricate wireless data gateways and proprietary protocols for vehicle monitoring.

Jeff has almost 40 years’ experience in the electrical and telecommunications industries with a background that includes estimating, procurement, project and program management, design build, maintenance, inspections, quality control, customer relations, and product and business development. He owns technical expertise in the industrial, commercial, residential, institutional, entertainment and telecommunications sectors. Jeff’s business management skills range from managing multi-disciplinary design teams to managing the entire operations and strategic vision of an international submetering manufacturing facility.
Jeff led Intellimeter, a prominent submetering company as General Manager and President. Prior experience includes Manager of U.S. Southeast operations in Fort Lauderdale for Morrison Hershfield Corporation, a major multinational design and engineering company. Jeff began his career in the electrical field as a tradesman gaining hands on experience and detailed knowledge of electrical design, installation, and infrastructure in a wide variety of sectors with the Ontario Electrical Construction Company Ltd.
Kelly has over 25 years’ experience in the controls industry working with cutting edge technologies focused on optimizing efficiency in commercial and industrial applications. He brings vast experience in facility controls technology, encompassing both design and implementation in major control projects. Having served in senior roles in both service and operations management He also brings a scope of knowledge and experience on topics related to the efficient operation of facilities of all types.
Kelly served as Senior Technology Officer for Pacific Controls, a major provider in the IoT solutions industry, where he was responsible for developing key relationships with major corporate partners including Jones, Lang, Lasalle, and Cummins. Previously he led the integrated services business in the North East region where he played a major role in Business Development, winning major accounts in the pharma, commercial real estate and hospital verticals. Kelly began his career as Regional Operations Manager for Electronic Systems USA where he developed a strong knowledge of commercial building control systems from all major manufacturers. He was deeply involved with the development of standard operating procedures and standards to streamline operations and enhance client satisfaction.

Tom is Managing Partner at ArcTern Ventures and Senior Advisor at MaRS Discovery District Cleantech Practice, a business incubator guiding the growth of next generation of cleantech companies. Tom is founder and director of VCi Green Funds, a seed and venture capital fund in the low-carbon sector; is co-developer of Planet Traveler, the “greenest hotel in North America”; and sits on the Board of Directors of a number of Cleantech companies and NGOs. A proven and successful entrepreneur, Tom founded Voice Courier Inc. (VCi) in 1991 to service the emerging Interactive Voice Response market. Under Tom’s direction, VCi expanded to over 100 employees in three countries, with revenue in excess of $20 million US annually. The VCi Group of Companies was profitable for each of the twelve years it was under his control, and was sold in 2005.
Tom holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, a MSc in Philosophy of Science from the University of London / London School of Economics and an MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto. In 2008, Tom was awarded an Action Canada Fellowship, and was project manager of the influential Green Bonds public policy team. Tom is the author of Kick the Fossil Fuel Habit and Waking the Frog.
Rob Macintosh is a leader in the growth and development of Canada’s sustainability sector. Over the past 30 years, he has worked at the intersection of the energy industry, environmental stewardship, eco-economics, and clean technologies. He is President of Dejanira Enterprises, a firm active in real estate management, land development, recycling, and environmental consulting. Rob is VP Development & CFO for Kandrea Environmental, an oilfield environmental reclamation, spill response, and environmental assessment and planning service company, and is a Director of several emerging clean energy technology companies.
Rob founded the Pembina Institute in 1985. The organization focuses on corporate climate change policy, early design of carbon pricing instruments, clean technology assessment, and sustainable business strategy for major energy companies and NGOs. He played a foundational role in the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, the Clean Air Strategic Alliance, the 1994 National Economic Instruments Collaborative, and other innovation initiatives.
Rob holds a B.Sc.(Hon – Physical Geography and Biology) and a B.Ed from Queen’s University. He currently chairs the Green Learning Canada Foundation, a national education NGO providing formal K-12 education programs and teacher training in energy-environment literacy and sustainability education.
Jamie brings his expertise in emerging companies, finance and governance to the CircuitMeter Board. Over the last 18 years he has held a wide variety of executive and directorial positions with numerous public and private companies in Canada and the United States. He is President, CEO and Director of Continental Mining and Smelting Limited and CFO of Canuc Resources Corporation. He started his 28-year career as a mining analyst, and then grew into corporate finance and building start-up companies. He spent ten years as the President, COO and Director of Innovium Media Properties Corp. Jamie sits on the Board of Directors and chairs the Audit Committees of Carlisle Goldfields Limited (TSX:CGJ) and GTA Resources and Mining Inc., and is on the Audit Committee of Asia Now Resources Corp. and Silver Mountain Mines Inc. Jamie is a Director of Atlas Precious Metals Inc. and the Vice-Chairman of Camp Awakening, a charity for youth with physical disabilities.
Jamie graduated from Queen’s University with a B.Sc. (Honours, Geological Sciences) and now sits on the Queen’s University Geology Council.
